Mary “Sissy” M. McDaniel, 73, of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born December 17, 1950, in Monticello, Kentucky to Forrest Lee and Mary Florence (Perkins) McDaniel.
Sissy attended Clinton Prairie High School. She had several jobs over her years including, National Cigar, Monroe Guarantee Insurance, and worked in the family business for several years until she retired in 2007. She belonged to the Frankfort Eagles Lodge #976 and the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion. She enjoyed playing slot machines and bingo, traveling, and hanging out with her friends and family. She never met a stranger and was loved by those that knew her. She loved taking care of her family and making memories with them.
Sissy is survived by her children, Chad Moore and Brandi Howe; brothers, James (Chris) McDaniel, Forrest McDaniel, Jr., John Alan McDaniel, Darrell McDaniel; grandchildren, Christopher Moore, Ramee Collins, Matalyn Howe, Cale Moore; great-grandchildren, Hudson and Magdalene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bobby Joe McDaniel.
Visitation will be held, Friday, August 2, 2024, from 3 to 6pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Following the visitation, people are welcome to join the family at the Eagles Lodge for food and fellowship. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com
