Mary "Pat" Small, aged 84, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024, in Beverly, Massachusetts. Born in Beverly on December 21, 1939, Pat was a vibrant and outgoing individual who dedicated much of her life to her family and community service.
Pat graduated from Beverly High School and earned her cosmetology license from Essex North Shore Technical School. She ran her own beauty salon, "Park Place" for many years. Her entrepreneurial spirit was complemented by her commitment to her community, as evidenced by her roles as an officer and member of The Kiwanis and volunteer at The Northshore Music Theatre and Danvers Senior Center.
In her leisure time, Pat was an artist and enjoyed painting and ceramics. She also enjoyed traveling, jazz music, playing cards and solving crossword puzzles. Her involvement in various clubs such as The Elks Club, French Club, and Gardening Club highlighted her diverse interests and her love for social engagement.
Pat was a cherished member of her family, survived by her children, Christine Sonier, Scott Redfield, Sharon Redfield, and Tricia McIntyre; her siblings Josephine DiLuiso, Dorothy Day, and Lenny Small. She was also a loving grandmother to Michael and Celine Sonier; Ryan, Rachel, and Rebecca Redfield; Katherine and Patricia Pollock; Keenan and Laughlin McIntyre; and aunt to many nieces and nephews who she deeply adored and cared about. Pat was preceded in death by her sister Margaret Cloutier, and her parents Margaret and Joseph Small.
Pat's legacy of warmth, creativity, and community involvement will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Visitation to honor Pat's life will be held at Mackey Funeral Home, Rt. 114, Middleton, MA on Friday, November 1st, 2024 from 9am to 10am. A prayer service will be held at 10am.
