Mary Snodgres Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ingram Funeral Home - Marysville on Feb. 23, 2026.
Mary Jane (Alexander) Snodgres, 88, lifelong resident of Marysville, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Friday afternoon, February 20, 2026, after months of declining health.

Mary Jane was born March 13, 1937, at her family's home in Marysville to the late Everett L. and Freidabell (Baker) Alexander Sr. She spent her working years at Otte's before enjoying her time at Orahood and McCarthy's, staying as an employee once it became McCarthy's Pharmacy. A woman of strong faith and value, she had been a member of the First United Methodist Church, now Cornerstone Global Methodist, since 1942. Her husband, Clarence "Clancy" Snodgres, was a huge car enthusiast and she enjoyed collecting automobiles with him. They were married for 63 years until his passing in June of 2016 – she missed her soulmate ever since.

A mother at heart, she is survived by her son Bob (Barb) Snodgres and daughter Teri (Gary) Peterman, both of Marysville; grandchildren Heather (Stacy) Snodgres, Matt (Sarah) Hamilton, and April Carroll; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother John (Cheryl) Alexander of Marysville; and many nieces, nephews, and 2 precious great-great nieces Lori & Laney Grimes.

Along with her beloved husband, Clancy, and her parents, she was preceded in death by their daughter, Debra Lee in April of 1989; grandson Quent Snodgres; brother and sister-in-law Everett Jr. & Mary Catherine Alexander; brother and sister-in-law Robert & Kay Alexander; sister and brother-in-law Virginia & Shine Grimes; and son-in-law James "Jim" Koltenbah.

Calling hours will be 4-6 pm Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Ingram & Snyder Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville, where funeral services to celebrate Mary Jane's life will be held 11 am Friday, February 27, 2026, with Rev. James Taylor, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.

In Mary Jane's memory, contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice Loving Care, 779 London Ave., Marysville, or in care of the funeral home, where contribution cards will be available during service times.

Mary Jane's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Walnut Crossing and Ohio's Hospice, for their compassionate, loving care of their mother during her final days.

A note from Mary Jane to her family… "I love you all very much… Mother."
