Funeral services for Mary Clyde Sparks, 61 of Nashville, Tennessee will be held at Church of the Advent, Nashville on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM, the Reverend Brian McVey presiding. Ms. Sparks passed from this life on August 12th at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro after an extended illness. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM-1:30 PM at the church.
Born on October 21, 1961 in Nashville to the late Loman and Sara Pinnell Sparks, she was a lifelong resident of Nashville. Ms. Sparks graduated from Franklin Road Academy, earned her bachelor's degree from The University of the South (Sewanee). She was a member of the choir and the vestry at Church of the Advent. She was a member of the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem. She was the Secretary of the Rotary Club of Brentwood at Breakfast, and active in Tennessee Episcopal Cursillo.
She is survived by: an aunt, Nanci (Tommy) Smith; cousins, Linda Wooten (Dennis) Parker; Chris (Jenny) Sparks, Chris Sparks Jr., Catherine Sparks (Mike) Erskin, Karen, Robert, Genie; caregivers, Judy Dudley, Brea Cox, Candida Bannister, Pam Jackson and Jeanmarie Hill, and numerous extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of the Advent, Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem or the American Cancer Society.

I was in the choir at Sewanee (The University of the South) with Mary Clyde. I am so sad to learn of her passing. She was such a wonderful wit.
