Mary Louise Square, born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, on February 2, 1937, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary lived a remarkable life filled with love, dedication, and adventure. As a military spouse, she traveled the world, calling many places home, including Ohio, Illinois, Germany, New Mexico, Belgium, Nebraska, and ultimately Oklahoma. Wherever she went, Mary created a home full of warmth and care.
A proud graduate of Lincoln High School in Altus, Oklahoma, Mary's life was marked by her service and compassion. She worked as a respiratory therapy technician and EMT at the VA Hospital, where she touched countless lives before retiring in 1992.
Mary was a woman of many passions. She loved shopping, gardening, and cheering for her grandkids at cheerleading competitions. Her love for gospel music brought her peace, and her incredible cooking brought her family together for unforgettable meals and gatherings.
Above all, Mary was a nurturing soul. She was deeply maternal, always putting her family first. She cherished caring for her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and her legacy of love and kindness lives on through them.
She is survived by her children: Michael Square, Bridget Square, Keisha Cornelius, and Chanel Square; her cherished grandchildren: Jihan Square, Khalil Square, Juwan Square, Kira Cornelius, Michael Square Jr., and Kailyn Anderson; and a host of extended family and friends who loved her dearly.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Julia Beavers and Agustus Beavers; her beloved husband, Willie Square Jr.; and her parents-in-law, Clara and Willie Square Sr.
Mary Louise Square's life was a testament to love, resilience, and faith. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew her.
