Mary Theresa (Bearth) Tarnowski was born in St. Paul, MN on April 3, 1942. After having suffered a stroke, she died peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, on June 19th, surrounded by family. A rosary will be prayed Sunday, June 22nd at 7pm and a Traditional Catholic Requiem Mass will be offered for the repose of her soul on Monday, June 23rd at 10am, both at Mount St. Michaels.
On June 10th, 1961, she married Robert (Bob) George Tarnowski, Sr., and they enjoyed 54 years, 7 months, and 27 days of life together. They have 6 children: Robert Jr., (Sara), Sr. Marie Vianney CMRI (Maureen), Debra (Jerry) Krause, David (Missy), Joan (Herman) Sitzenstock, Michele (Patrick) Snyder. They have given her 8 granddaughters and 13 grandsons, and eight great-grandchildren with another expected in October.
There was nothing in the world more important to her than her faith and family. Mary was a devoted wife, mother and home-maker. While living in St. Paul, she did day care for many years, and later worked at and eventually owned and operated a small clothing store for ten years. She was also a girl scout leader for many years, a member of the parish "stapling committee" and choir, the altar and rosary society and school parent-teacher organization.
After moving to Spokane, WA in 1999, Mary became active in St. Michaels parish where she was a part of the flower guild, the host-baking apostolate, and the parish choir. She attended daily Mass and did all she could to help the religious Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen.
Mary will be remembered for her love for family, of the rosary and of the Blessed Mother, her ability to make friends, welcome newcomers, and make everyone feel appreciated. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, Anthony and Julia Bearth; her brothers Bill, Jim, Bernard, and Ted; and sisters Irene and Leona. She is survived by sisters Helen and Karen and all her children and grandchildren. Please pray for her. May she rest in peace. Online condolences may be expressed at tribute wall.
