Mary Noland Tate, 100 years old, passed away on September 29, 2025, at Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation. Mary was born in Haywood County on February 10, 1925, to the late James T. and Idella S. Noland. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Joe N. Tate Jr., a daughter Julia A. Tate, daughter-in-law Tracy Brigman and two brothers Hardy and Jack Noland.

Our Mother and sweet Nana will be remembered for her quick smile, her strong family values, her willingness to help in any way she could and her faith in God. After her retirement Mary spent many enjoyable hours with her two grandsons, working on her knitting and craft projects and researching her genealogy.

Left to cherish Mary's memory is a daughter Rebekah (Ted) Norman, a son James N. Tate, two grandsons Bragg (Shay) Norman and Calab (Lindsey) Tate, two great grandsons Price and Lincoln, son-in-law Bruce Rary, her sister Betty Noland Boone and many extended family members.

Graveside Services will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Cemetery on Friday October 3, 2025, at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Mike Holder will officiate. Pallbearers will be Bragg Norman, Calab Tate, Robert, Lynn and James Noland and David Boone.

Mother "Sweet Nana" you will live forever in our hearts, Rest in Peace.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehab Activities Department, Attn Amy Tucker-Activities Director, 75 Fisher Loop, Maggie Valley, NC 28751. The family would like to thank the entire staff at MVNR for the loving care they extended to our Mother.
