Funeral services for Ms. Mary Katherine Terrell will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Stewart Holloway officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Ms. Terrell, 94, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA.
Mary Katherine had a caretaker's heart that extended beyond her professional career. She will be remembered for the countless lives she touched as a nurse anesthetist and extending care to anyone in need that crossed her path. Her greatest passion in life was spending time with her grandchildren, especially her famous Nana's ice cream sandwich breakfasts. She found extreme happiness through working in her yard, planting extravagant flower beds, and maintaining them with tireless care. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ola Thompson; two brothers, Arvel Thompson and Fred Noel Thompson; and one sister, Sally Jouette.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one son, Phillip Terrell of Pineville; one grandson, Mason Terrell of Pineville; two granddaughters, Megan Lazarone (Matthew) of Baton Rouge, and Shelby Terrell (fiancé Devin) of Boyce; her daughter-in-law, Vicki Terrell of Pineville; one sister, Patricia Shelton (Lester) of North Carolina; and two great-granddaughters, Adair Lazarone and Laylah Bertrand.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: James Eli, Keith McLain, Bubba Cross, Raphael Luneau, Robert Murphy, and Jeff Marien. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Terrell, Matt Lazarone, Devin Bertrand, and Wayne Layssard.
