Mary Ann Thompson

Mary Ann Thompson, age 71, passed away peacefully on December 5th, just days before her birthday on December 16th. A beloved resident of Dacula, Georgia, Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend whose presence brought warmth and light to every room she entered. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerome Thompson, who now welcomes her home.
Mary proudly served five years in the United States Air Force before pursuing her college education. After her service, she dedicated her life to her family as a stay-at-home mother, pouring endless love, care, and wisdom into her children and her late husband, Gerome Thompson. She was the heart of her home and the steady calm for everyone around her.
She is survived by her four children: Toi, Jennifer, Angela, and Philiana Thompson. Mary also leaves behind several grandchildren whom she adored deeply: Nyasha, Antoinette, Zeric, Brandon, Aryanna, Jamel, Michael, Bryce, and Skylar. She is preceded in death by her grandchild Izanna, whom she now embraces again in Heaven.
Mary is also survived by her siblings Lonzo Pittman and Ransom Pittman. She is preceded in death by her siblings Henry Mack and Janice Stockton.
Mary was everyone's safe place-catering, loving, and always ready with a smile. She had a special way of making people feel seen, heard, and comforted. To know her was to be blessed by her kindness. She loved gospel music, cooking for her family, shopping for clothes and purses, and capturing memories through photos of her loved ones. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother.
Mary's impact stretches far beyond her home. She was a trusted friend, a problem-solver, and the person many turned to for guidance and comfort. She loved the Lord deeply, and her life reflected a heart full of faith, compassion, and service.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, one that will continue through her family and all who were touched by her generous spirit. She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM – 12 noon at the funeral home.
