Mary Brady Walsh, 73 years, old expired on September 5, 2025 in St Augustine, Florida after a prolonged illness. She was born in New York City and grew up In East Meadow on Long Island. Educated at Sacred Heart Academy in Garden City, followed by a bachelor's degree in nursing from Georgetown University Class of 1975. She worked as an intensive care nurse at George Washington University and was the Head Nurse of the Recovery Room when President Reagan was shot in 1981. Upon retirement, Mary focused her efforts on interior home design, even making her own window drapes and valances.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years John A. Walsh, MD and two sons Brian T. Walsh of Philadelphia, and Michael P. Walsh, of New York City. She was preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Ellen Brady. She is also survived by her brothers Sean and Michael Brady and sister Patricia Barker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation for the EMTs of St Johns County, as well as the entire medical staff at UF Flagler who heroically attempted to revive her.
Memorial services will be held 4PM Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Craig Funeral Home, the family will receive friends at the funeral home starting at 3:00pm until 5pm. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Mary Brady Walsh, please visit our Tree Store.
