Mary Lois Weston, "MA", 94, went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2025. She was born in Pigeon Creek, Alabama but was a long-time resident of Valparaiso. She was a child of God and a wife to the late Joe Weston for 70 years. She was a wonderful mother to Brenda Barbee (late husband Chris) and Mary Jo (Harold) Norman. She was a cherished grandmother to 11 grandchildren, Joshua (Karin) Barbee, Dr. Jacob (Amber) Barbee, Charis (Jeremy) Maines, Sara (Ryan) Jackson, Summer (Joshua) Gernatt, Chesed (Patrick) Berry, Dr. Luke (Jamie) Norman, Capt. Judah (Kimberly) Barbee, Dr. Jonathan (Ashley) Barbee, Samuel Norman, Chara (Daniel) Knick. Each of whom thought they were her favorite. She was also a proud great-grandmother to 30 and a great-great-grandmother to one. She was affectionately known as "M'Lois" to her four nieces and two nephews who cherished her kindness and wisdom.
Mrs. Weston retired from Civil Service where she worked as a Technical Librarian. Her love for the Lord led her to serve as a Sunday School teacher, G.A. leader, chaperon for youth activities, and a Bargain Box volunteer. She was a clarinet player in the Murphy marching band, a competitive Rook player, and an avid Florida Gator fan (depending on the game). She spent many hours watching her grands at Florida Park. She loved watching her grands in all their many skits and make-believe activities. When her great-grands came along she spent many hours watching them play with little people, legos or even rocks collected from any number of places. Each of her children, grand children, and great grand children never had any doubt they were seen and heard by her and above all else loved by her and God. She leaves a wonderful legacy, special memories and will be greatly be missed by everyone who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 4th at 11:00 am at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, Niceville, FL. Family will receive friends starting at 10:00 am. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 6th at 11:00 am at Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso, Florida.
Donations may be made to C.A.L.M. a local organization that supports mothers and children in crisis, which she faithfully supported every month for years.

Thank you for sharing your mother“s service - she was blessed with a family who loved and adored her. I will remember her from long ago family reunions with her beautiful smile! She and Aunt Matt were so kind to my mother after my Dad died. I hope your wonderful memories will give you peace.
