Mary Ann Wilhoit left this earthly life for her heavenly home on Thursday, November 13. Among those with grateful hearts for her life are her children, Taryn Wilhoit Davis (Andy) and Trey Wilhoit (Michelle), and five grandchildren Laurel, Natalia, Brennan, Mary Jayne and Will Davis. Also her sister, Dorothy Peacock, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Ann met many loved ones in heaven who have gone before her. She was predeceased by her parents, Mamie Elise McFarland and Laurie Henderson McFarland, her sister Linda Wilburn, and five brothers- James, William, Douglas, Michael, and Carl.
Mary Ann enjoyed travel and spent her early years before marriage as a flight attendant. In addition to motherhood, she worked 32 years in the industrial construction industry. She loved cooking, sewing and decorating, and especially spending time with her family and friends.
She was a beloved member of Lexington Baptist Church and especially enjoyed fellowship with her friends in the Faith Sunday School class and Tuesday night Bible Study. Her faith, and the prayers of family and friends, sustained her through a ten year battle with bilateral lung cancer, after she was given a prognosis of less than one year. God was merciful to allow her extra time to spend with her family and friends whom she dearly loved. To Him be the glory for all of his blessings.
A celebration of her life will be held in the chapel of Lexington Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 25 at 2 pm, with a reception afterwards.
