Mary Ann Zeadey

ONSET - Mary Ann Zeadey, 85, of Onset, passed away on May 24, 2022, at Boston Medical Center. She was born in Onset to the late Taft G. and Minnie (Zion) Zeadey. She graduated from Wareham High School, then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Education at Boston College, followed by a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature at Georgetown University. Mary Ann was an educator at the ACS - American Community School in Beirut, Lebanon and for many years an English teacher in New Jersey before retiring. She was very passionate about her Lebanese heritage, literature, history, politics and culinary arts. She was also a woman of faith, and gave back to the community with numerous charities. Mary Ann will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her brother, Joseph A. Zeadey of Onset, her many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father Taft G. Zeadey, her mother Minnie Zion and her sister Faith T. Zeadey. Her Zion aunts were the late Alice, Delia, Rosie, Mabel, Ethelyn, Marie, Madalyn, and Ruby. Her Zion uncles were the late Arthur, Joseph and John. Her Zeadey aunts were the late Nabiha Coury and religious nun sister Agnes. Her Zeadey uncles were the late Amin, George and Yousef. She was also predeceased by many cousins.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the medical staff at Boston Medical Center for taking care of Mary Ann during her final days.
Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the funeral home.
Her funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Onset. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wareham.
