Maryan M. Billesbach, 96, of Grand Island passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Country House in Grand Island.

A private family service will be held on Saturday, October 18. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Maryan was born on November 6, 1928 to Ray and Augusta (Delimont) Martin in Stamford, NE. She loved growing up in Stamford with her brother, Paul, and other family members. She graduated from Stamford High School in 1946. In 1950, she graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lincoln.

On October 22, 1950 she married the love of her life, Dale Arlo Billesbach at the First Christian Church in Lincoln. They were married for 65 years before Dale’s death in 2015. Maryan and Dale had their first child, David, in 1951 to be followed by Janet in 1953 and Gary in 1957. Maryan loved to sew, knit, garden, read, golf, and play bridge. Dale and Maryan were blessed to be surrounded by wonderful family and lifelong friends. They enjoyed taking trips with their friends, going to Nebraska football games, and being involved in their children’s activities. Maryan was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years. Mom will be remember for her strong will and great sense of humor.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, David (Jamie) Billesbach of Buena Vista, CO; Janet Billesbach of Grand Island; daughter-in-law, Laine Billesbach of Sarasota, FL; four grandsons, Jaryd Billesbach of Denver, CO, Joe (Maggie) Billesbach of Marietta, GA, Andy Billesbach of Scottsdale, AZ, and Sam Billesbach of Sarasota, FL; four great granddaughters: Lily, Kate, Molly and Cora Billesbach; a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, son, Gary, her parents, mother-in-law, Margaret Billesbach, and her brother, Paul.

The family would like to thank Country House for the loving, compassionate care they gave to mom and also to us. We are forever grateful.
