She was born in Norwalk, CT, to Alice and Edwin Safir.
MaryAnn studied Education at the University of New Hampshire before moving to the North Shore. There, she taught for over 40 years, starting at Ipswich Public Schools and retiring from Pine Grove School in Rowley.
She was an avid reader, loved beach views, holiday lights, getting together with friends and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
MaryAnn was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Safir, and mother, Alice Safir. She is survived by her children, Melissa (Matthew) Rouette, and Christopher (Melanie) Michon. MaryAnn leaves behind her 3 grandchildren, Jacob, Oliver and Stella, who she loved very deeply.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in her name would be greatly appreciated.
