Matthew Bauer

Matthew J Bauer, 64, of Brielle, passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Wednesday December 10, 2025. Matthew spent his childhood in Charlotte NC before moving to Pompton Plains, NJ where he graduated from Pequannock HS and received his bachelor's degree from Iona College. Matthew had an impactful career spanning more than 40 years in both aerospace and medical sales. Throughout his career, Matt was passionate in selling products that kept people safe, improved people's health or quality of life and oftentimes had the potential to save people's lives. Matthew lived at the Jersey Shore for most of his life. He was an avid boater and member of the Shore Haven Yacht Club. He was a parishioner of St Denis Church. He enjoyed playing beach volleyball, volleyball in Brielle Recreation, riding his bike to the beach and skiing, hiking and camping. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time on the sidelines at one of his children's sporting events. He could often be found fixing something or making something. If something needed to be done, you could always count on Matt to do it without excuse and he took care of everybody and always did so much more than he was asked. Matthew was predeceased by his parents Fred and Regina Bauer, and his sister Maribeth Williams. Matthew is survived by his loving wife Sandy (nee Schwedhelm) Bauer of Brielle, his children Korrie Bauer, and Ryan Bauer his stepchildren Garrett Terlizzi and Henry Terlizzi. He also leaves behind his brothers Mark (Debbie) Bauer of Smyrna, GA, Mike (Brenda) Bauer of Hardeeville, SC, Joe (Erika) Bauer, and his sister Jennifer (Vinny) Campo, both of Pompton Plains, NJ, as well as a brother-in-law Malcolm Williams of Bethlehem, PA and many beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday December 15, 2025, from 4pm to 8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am on Tuesday December 16, 2025, at St Denis Church, Manasquan. Interment to follow at St Anne Cemetery, Wall Township, NJ.
