Matthew Kyle "Matt" Clark, 34, went home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by his family and friends. Matt was a native of Jacksonville and a dedicated member of Lane Avenue Church of God. Matt's greatest joy in life was being a devoted husband to Jessica and father to Gracie and Lillie. They were his entire world. His faith in God, love of music and playful sense of humor were passed down to his children.
Matt enjoyed playing golf, a good football game (Go Gators) and his Mama's cornmeal gravy. He was a talented drummer for his local church and enjoyed a good jam session with his family.
Over the past four and a half years, Matt has served the Lord with unwavering faith through extensive health complications. He never complained, never lost his smile or his sense of humor. Even in his final hours, he was lifting his hands to worship God and praying for everyone else in the room. He has been an inspiration to countless people across the country. Matt is loved deeply and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Matt is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jessica Clark; daughters: Gracie and Lillie; parents: Dennis Clark and Dolly Clark; 2 brothers: Rick Wilson, Jr. (Danielle) and David Clark (Karmel); sister: Courtney Clark; Father & Mother-in-law: Junior Combs & Gayle Combs; Sister in-law: Alicia Martin (Dustin); Brother in-law: Wesley Combs (Noel); along with nephews: Jacob, Nicholas, Rylan, Landon, Jensen, and Wilder; nieces; Claire and Indie. Matt also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his biological father: Richard Paul Wilson, Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Lannie Road Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
His family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church prior to the service.
