Matthew N. Hart

Matthew N. Hart, 45, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Born December 31, 1979, in Rockford, the son of Laurie L. (Magee) Hart. Attended East High School and Kishwaukee College. Matthew worked for Rockford Spring where he was a Maintenance Engineer. He was creative, enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, food, cooking and going to the casino. Matthew was always willing to help anyone. He had great dad jokes and his children were his world.
Survived by his children, Matilyn, Richard, and Laura Hart; mother, Laurie Hart; brother, Jason Hart; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Predeceased by his grandparents; and father, Patrick.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025 in the chapel and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Creston, IL. A reception to follow at 2:00 p.m. location to be announced at service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family to establish at a later date.
