Matthew Holcomb

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew John "Matt" Holcomb, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend. Matt was born on February 10, 1990, in Chesterfield, Virginia, and he left this world tragically on August 10, 2025, at the age of 35.
Matt was a long-time resident of Chesterfield, VA, where he was known for his warm spirit and kind heart. He graduated from Manchester High School before pursuing higher education at Blue Ridge Community College and Marshall University. His dedication to learning and personal growth was evident throughout his life.
Matt was the Co-Owner of Coastal Ferry Medical Transport, where he worked to ensure the safety and well-being of others. His commitment to service was further exemplified through his role as a Driver for Surf or Sound Realty. Matt's work was a testament to his strong sense of responsibility and care for his community.
A lover of music, family, and friends, Matt's life was enriched by his many interests. He found joy in paddle boarding in the ocean and the sound, as well as in bicycle riding.
Surviving Matt are his loving parents, David John Holcomb and Paula Grimm Holcomb, who supported him throughout his life with unwavering love. He is also survived by his brother Nathan Holcomb and sister-in-law Alexis Holcomb, of Virginia Beach, VA, along with his cherished niece and nephew, Coral and Lincoln.
In honor of Matt's memory, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Chicamacomico Banks Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 125, Rodanthe, NC 27968.
While our hearts are heavy with the loss of Matt, we find comfort in the memories we shared and the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
