Matthew A. Louk was born in Toms River to Christina L Louk on August 4, 1978. He graduated from the Alpha program at Toms River High School East. Afterwards, he went on to work at McDonald's and Hopewoods, where he was a dog caretaker. Matty had many hobbies. He loved watching TV, Pokémon, and anime. Later in his life, he enjoyed playing D&D, listening to audiobooks, and socializing with friends. As a teenager, Matt went to summer camp at Team Randy in Ocean County. Team Randy is a summer camp for teenagers with physical disabilities. During his time at camp, the counselors and campers became an extended family for Matt. He held all of his memories from Team Randy close to his heart and truly cherished his time there. Matt spent most of his time with his mother, Christine, and she raised him to be a kind and truly wonderful person. Upon her death, eight years ago, Matt moved into AMIB, in Pine Beach, the Midland house, a group home for the impaired blind. He spent the last years of his life making a new family there. He was extremely independent at AMIB and took pride in his accomplishments, such as doing his laundry. While living at AMIB, he went to a day program at NJID. Matt loved going to program and connecting with everyone there, from the employees to the participants. He also became friends with Will Harrison during his time at ARC and played D&D. (If you know, you know.) Eileen and Micky D'Andrea often picked Matt up from his group home, and he spent hours enjoying great food and friendship with the two of them.
Matt is survived by Tammi Stanziale, her husband; Evey, their children; Michael, Rebecca, Noelle, and Stephanie Stanziale; Judy Matarazzo; his Team Randy forever family; his friends Theresa, Steve and Angela Urban from Hopewoods; Will Harrison from Arc; Eileen and Micky D'Andrea his very best friends; All the staff and participants at NJID; Lastly, all the staff and residents at AMIB who gave him a whole new family to love. And Jovan, who stayed right by Matt's side, encouraging him until the very end.
Matt, you gave so much love to all whom you met. I will miss your strong hugs and "Oh Jeez's".
Until we meet again, God Bless, I Love You, and that's what friends are for.
