Matthew Lee "Matt" Morrison

ASHBURN – Matthew "Matt" Lee Morrison, 40, died suddenly Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, August 11, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church of Ashburn. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 AM before service. Burial will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia.
Matt was born in Tifton, Georgia to Robley Lee and Ann Reynolds Morrison, who survive. His maternal grandparents Emmett and Matt Matt Reynolds, his paternal grandfather Travis Lee Morrison, and his aunts Jane Tomlinson and Dona McEachern all precede Matt in death.
Matt graduated from Turner County High School in 2001. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed activities like golfing, fishing, and hunting. In addition, he had a passion for cooking and worked as a kitchen manager at his family's restaurant, 16 East Bar & Grill.
Surviving Matt are his parents Robley and Ann Reynolds Morrison of Oakfield, Georgia; his brothers and their families, Michael Morrison and his wife Lauren and their children Chandler and Charlotte of Cordele, and Mitchell Morrison and his wife Taylor, and their children Harper and Hadley of Leesburg, Georgia; his paternal grandmother Evelyn Morrison of Cordele; his uncle Harold Reynolds and his son Rick and Brenna Reynolds; and cousins John Tomlinson and his wife Maggie of Charlotte, NC, Van Tomlinson and his wife Christa of Hendersonville, NC, and Lee Collins and her husband Bob of Newnan, Ga.
Overall, Matt's life was filled with love and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
