Matthew Cody Mullis

Mr. Matthew Cody Mullis, 29, of Heath Springs passed away Monday, December 15, 2025. He was born June 11, 1996 in Lancaster, the son of Claude and Sarah Mullis. Cody was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School class of 2014. Cody was an avid book reader, and enjoyed playing video games, going on trips with his friends, and spending time with his dogs, Harley and Molly. He loved his grandparents dearly. Cody was an apprentice with Norwalt Design and got to work alongside his dad.
A service to celebrate the life of Cody will be held Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Adam Wright officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Cody is survived by his parents, Claude and Sarah Mullis; grandparents, Jim Mullis and Catherine Ernandez; four uncles, Jaimie Mullis, Tommy Ernandez, Steve Knight, and Darrell Willm; three aunts, Darla Willm, Francine Richardson, and Carolina Mullis; and nine cousins, Racquel, Trey, Kai, Kahealani, Alannah, Koa, Tyler, Brittany, and Nellie. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Bessie Mullis; grandfather, Marion Ernandez; and his aunt, Cathy Knight.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025 at New Hope Baptist Church.
