JONESBORO - Matthew "Matt" Ransbottom, 50, of Jonesboro, died Monday, June 9, 2025. He had lived in Jonesboro for 25 years, moving here from Oklahoma City, Okla. He was born in Oklahoma City on Oct. 11, 1974, to Donnie Ransbottom and Janice Iovene. Matt was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Desert Shield/Storm War. He was a hard worker and most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Tony Iovene.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kim Ransbottom, of the home; sons, Kody Sullins of Bono; Jaxton Ransbottom of Jonesboro; daughters, Bailee Cupples and husband Blake of Brookland; Heather Householder and husband Anthony; Harley Ransbottom all of Jonesboro; parents, Donnie Ransbottom and wife Debbie of Edmond, Okla.; mother, Janice Iovene; brother, Cory Ransbottom all of Edmond; sister, Lacey Campbell of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Lexy, Jaxon, and baby Cupples.
A celebration of life service will be held today at 2 p.m., at Emerson Memorial Chapel with John Burns officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Wayne Newman, Jonathan Newman, Daniel Newman, Calvin Newman, Cory Ransbottom and Kody Sullins serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jaxton Ransbottom, Anthony Householder, and James Campbell. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time.
