Matthew Joseph Schneider, 43, passed away on March 2, 2024 in his home with his family by his side. Matt was born in Tallahassee, FL on May 11, 1980, and with his military family moved to Virginia Beach at a young age. He graduated from Tallwood High School, and then became a Virginia Tech Hokie, where he graduated with a marketing degree. He met the love of his life, Liz, in 2003 and they married in 2007 and celebrated their wedding at the Virginia Beach oceanfront.
Matt is survived by his wife of 17 years, Liz Schneider, three sons, Luke, Andrew, and Sam, two brothers, Mike Schneider and his wife Ellen of Richmond, VA, and Jacob Schneider and his wife Christine of Bushkill, PA, his parents, Tony and Barbara Schneider of Virginia Beach, his mother and father in law, Ed and Myrna Duffey of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, his brothers and sisters in laws and their families, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and good friends. Matt was incredibly creative and enjoyed his jobs in various marketing and advertising roles. His creativity lives on in his three sons as being a father was his favorite role. He enjoyed taking the boys out into nature, biking, hiking, kayaking, camping or any kind of exploring. Matt was a loving husband and supported Liz in her interests and career. Matt fought pancreatic cancer bravely and he will be missed by many.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00PM on Saturday March 9, 2024 in Coastal Community Church, 2800 S. Independence Blvd in Virginia Beach. A Celebration of Matt's Life will follow the visitation starting at 3:00 PM. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd Chapel is handling arrangements. Any arrangements sent to HD Oliver will be transported to the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider gift card donations on behalf of Matt's three young sons.
