Matthew Elijah Teran

FORT WORTH, TEXAS - Matthew Elijah Teran, 21, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023.
Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Centro Apostolico Familiar Cristiano, 2001 Grace Ave., Fort Worth, Texas. Interment: 4 p.m. Thursday, November 16, at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Centro Apostolico Familiar Cristiano.
Matthew was born March 24, 2002, in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Castleberry High School, and received a football and educational scholarship from Waldorf University in Iowa. Matthew was very athletic and an overachiever. Over the years, he earned several academic awards and he had a collection of medals. He also worked for Pepsi Co. warehouse for two years, as a loader and picker.
Matthew loved Jesus, theology and partaking in bible studies. His roots came from his home church, Centro Apostolico Familiar Cristiano. He also loved sports, but his favorite was football. Some of his hobbies were listening to music and meeting new people.
Matthew also loved his mom's food and enjoyed learning how to make it as well. He also had a soft spot for sweets, like soda pops and Jolly Ranchers.
Matthew also appreciated simple pleasures like jewelry, journaling, and learning subjects like history and philosophy. Ultimately, he was always spending time with his family, whether it was spending time with his siblings, or babysitting family. He adored his grandparents and great-grandparents.
Matthew was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Tomasa Vela; and his uncle, Misael Uribe.
Survivors: Loving parents, Oscar Teran and Mayra Uribe; siblings, Eathan and Maya Teran; girlfriend, Alysia Espinoza; grandparents, Manuel and Maria Uribe, and Jose and Martina Teran; and great-grandparents, Armandina Ortiz, and Alfredo and Toribia Teran.
