Matthew J. Thais, 53, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 21, 2026, after enduring a long illness with remarkable strength and grace.

A man who had no enemies, Matt was genuinely loved by all who met him.

Affectionately known as "Dutch" to his closest and lifelong friends, Matt was born in Philadelphia and raised in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. He attended culinary school in Philadelphia before earning his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

Matt's greatest joy was his family. He treasured weekends spent cooking alongside his wife and cherished every moment with his boys. Home was truly his sanctuary. A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, Matt proudly rooted for all four hometown teams. He loved golfing, grilling, woodworking, and gardening. He found joy in building, fixing, and creating with his hands. Matt also dedicated many years to coaching his sons in basketball and baseball, creating lasting memories both on and off the field.

He is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife of 24 years, Antoinette (née Scamuffa), and his beloved sons, Michael and Justin.

His memory will live on through his lifelong friends-brothers in every sense of the word-his sister Jess (Steve), and his loving nieces, nephews, and dog.

A private service will be held at the family's request.
