Mattie Sue Davis Banks, age 83 of Gallatin, passed away August 21, 2025. Mrs. Banks was born on October 29, 1941 in Lafayette, Tennessee to the late Carlos Davis and the late Ercie Doss Davis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Davis and sister, Mary Hix.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joe Curtis Banks; daughter, Terry Kennedy (Tommy); grandson, Thomas Christopher Kennedy (Brittany); great-granddaughters, Saylor and Rylan Kennedy; sister, Betty Fleming; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Banks was a very sweet, kind, and personable lady who loved the Lord. She was a great cook and loved to keep her house spotless; she was a great person who will deeply missed by her family. She enjoyed boardgames and playing cards; she loved to watch gameshows, especially Wheel of Fortune.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 1:30 P.M. from the Chapel of Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville with Rev. John Penfield officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens in Gallatin. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday from 11:30 A.M. until service time.
