Maudie Sue Mattox was born on June 11, 1943 in Stilwell Ok. She departed this life peacefully on August 12, 2024 at the age of 81 years old.
Maudie was an amazing wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She spent many years of her life married to Andrew Parker Mattox Sr. One thing she cherished the most was spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Some of her most fond memories included family vacations, fun nights of gambling in Laughlin NV., extravagant holidays, teaching her grandchildren how to can delicious fruits and vegetables, and enjoying a simple home-cooked meal. No matter what was going on, Maudie loved being surrounded around her family.
During the course of her life, she accomplished many things. Maudie went through beauty school before falling in love with the department of Education.
She pursued her passion for teaching by educating herself for many years ultimately obtaining her Masters Degree in Education. One of her most proud accomplishments was being an educator. Giving back to her community was very dear to her heart. She taught for 35 plus years at Greasy school. Her favorite part of the school year was being able to put all of her creative ideas into the Christmas program. Over the years, she managed to keep many of the knickknacks made by her students.
On her downtime, she enjoyed gossiping with her best friends, Karla Watkins and Ruth Whilhite, all while enjoying her diet Mountain Dew with mandatory peanuts.
Maudie is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Parker Mattox Sr., Parents George Alfred Key and Icie Mary Key, three sisters; Emma Drain, Virginia Shell, and Marilyn Blair, and one brother; Floyd George Key all of Stilwell Oklahoma.
Those left to cherish Maudie’s memory are her daughter, Connie Asbill and Husband Kyle Youngman of Stillwell, Oklahoma. Andy and wife Kelly Mattox of Fort Smith, AR. Three grandchildren; Trevor Mattox of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Destiny and husband Marcus Chuculate of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and Logan and Wife Katy Mattox of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Five great grandchildren; Marcus Jr., Fisher, Hunter, Kota, and Hank Chuculate of Stilwell, OK.
She will be loved and remembered in the hearts of everyone who loved and adored Mrs. Mattox.
