It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maudry Mary Boutte Auguillard on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Born on June 3, 1940, in Broussard, Louisiana, to Anna Belle Labbe and Wilson Boutte, Maudry brought joy, love, and warmth to all who knew her.

Maudry was a beloved wife to Russell Auguillard Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories. Her passions were many, but she found particular delight in the simple joy of playing Bingo. Known for her enthusiasm, Maudry loved the thrill of the "pickle jars" filled with cash and the excitement of the jackpots. More than the game itself, she cherished the camaraderie and laughter shared with her peers, proudly keeping up with 20 cards at a time. Saturday nights were her special time, starting with Saturday mass, followed by an evening of Bingo that she humorously referred to as her "turn up" until 9 pm. Her playful spirit shone through when she'd declare, "Oo I was out late last night!"

Maudry's family would often ask about her Bingo nights. On losing nights, she'd humorously respond, "Ooo it was lousy! I didn't win nothing." But when she did win, her eyes would sparkle as she teased her family, waiting for them to inquire about her success. With a triumphant grin, she'd proudly announce, "I won the pickle jar!"

Aside from Bingo, Maudry loved watching her favorite TV shows like Reba, The Waltons, Andy Griffith, and Let's Make A Deal, often offering spirited advice to the characters on screen.

Maudry's heart was the biggest and most giving of all. She always made sure to have enough for her neighbors and loved bringing her family together for gatherings. She was truly the glue that held her family close. Her legacy of love and togetherness will continue through the monthly birthday gatherings she started, ensuring her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family.

Maudry is survived by her children, Glenda (Horace) Broussard, Debra Auguillard, Veronica (Kenward Sr.) Alexander, Carol Auguillard, Jeanette Auguillard, and Russel Auguillard Jr.; her brother, John Edward Boutte; brothers-in-law, Earnest Mathieu and Calvin Cross; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Russel Auguillard Sr.; children, Joseph Daniel Auguillard, Denise Marie Auguillard, and her twin infant daughters, Sharon and Sandra Auguillard; parents, Wilson and Anna Belle Boutte; sisters, Mildred Boutte, Helen Mathieu, Viola Cross, and three infant sisters; and grandchildren, Harley Haven Joy Aubry and Blaine Elliott Auguillard.

Pallbearers will be Gerard Boutte, Rodney Boutte, Coty Rossyion, Kenward Alexander Jr., Blake Alexander Sr., and Jaden Alexander.

Maudry's kindness, humor, and love will be dearly missed, but her spirit and traditions will live on forever in the hearts of those she touched.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, on Saturday, August 3, 2023, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge.
