Maureen Elizabeth (McKale) Allen, 70, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, in Halifax, Massachusetts after a long, but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Maureen was born on July 23, 1954, in Norwood, Massachusetts and grew up in Sharon, Massachusetts. She was the beloved daughter of the late Frances and Raymond McKale.
Maureen was a beautiful person with a loving heart. She was most proud of being a mother and grandmother. She would carry multiple wallet sized photos of each of her grandchildren and show them off whenever she had the chance.
In her younger years, Maureen worked in several different departments at Norwood Hospital. Her favorite position was being an Anesthesia Tech because she loved being in and around the operating room.
Maureen loved to travel and found joy in exploring new places, experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. Some of her favorite destinations included Aruba, Italy, Brazil and Slovenia. She had a deep appreciation for summer days spent under the warmth of the sun. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren who called her "Gammy". Maureen always had a smile on her face when she spoke of her grandchildren.
Maureen leaves behind her loving husband of 24 years Frederick Allen Sr. She is survived by former husband Warren Sprout and their four children- Kelly Samia and husband Steven Samia, Michael Sprout and his wife Kayla Sprout, Meghan Sprout, and Sean Sprout and his wife Lauren Sprout. She was predeceased by her daughter Heather Sprout. Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren-Lucas, Lily, Lexi, Morgan and Sean. She is also survived by her granddaughter Madyson- who she has lovingly raised for the last 12 years. She leaves behind Frederick Allen Sr. 's children Frederick Allen Jr. and his family, Danielle Allen and her family, Christian Allen and his family. She leaves behind her brother Raymond McKale and his wife Michele McKale and their three children Kimberly, Daniel and Emily.
Maureen was also blessed with many dear neighbors and friends. Her kindness and unwavering love for those around her will be remembered by all who knew her.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 5th from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Hanson - 2 Maquan St. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00AM at Holy Apostles Parish (St. Joseph the Worker) in Hanson - 1 Maquan St. Burial will immediately follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
