Maureen Joy Kindt Check, 69, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.
Maureen was born on February 11, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois, to William Kindt and Marguerite Kindt, nee Carroll.
Maureen graduated from St. Scholastica High School in 1974, and later went on to marry Jeffrey Check on September 6, 1980. They made a home together in Chicago and raised three children. Maureen found comfort and joy in the simple pleasures of life-listening to music and watching classic films. These moments brought her peace and reflection, and were often shared with those closest to her.
Maureen is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Jeffrey Check. Her three cherished children, Kristen, Patrick and Daniel (partner, Jackie).
Loving grandmother of six: Anthony, Isabelle, Hailyn, Daniel, Micheal, Benjamin and Tammy.
She is also survived by two sisters, Patricia and Kathleen.
Pre deceased by her parents and two siblings, Carol and Bill.
Maureen is also survived by her lifelong best friend, Meg, whose love and support was unwavering.
A visitation will be held to honor Maureen's life on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. with a Funeral Service to be held at 2 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Chicago Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Avenue. Chicago, IL 60646. Interment Private. For funeral info call 773-736-3833.
