Robert Check

Robert (Bob) Charles Check, age 75 of Lebanon, passed from this life Monday, April 21, 2025, after a long illness. He is preceded in death by his parents Steve and Sally (Bonk) Check; mother of his children, Kathleen (Weekes) Check; sister, Kathleen Benthein; brothers in law, Randy Benthein, Bobby Johnson and Craig Dunnavant; sisters in law, Nancy (McDonnell) Check and Rita Dunnavant; and nephews, Mike Benthein and Kristopher Hatchell.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Nancy (Dunnavant) Check; sons, Jason (Jamie) Check and Joshua Check; stepsons, Randy and Rick Klein; grandchildren, Kathy, Jimmy, Jeremy, Isabell, Leslie and James Check; brother, Stephen Check; sisters, Connie (Jon) Warning, Mary Smith, and Sue Check (Adam Hoopai); brother in law, Floyd (Susan) Dunnavant; sisters in law, Cindy Johnson and Dorothy (Parrott) Dunnavant; nephews, Todd (Mary) Benthein, Andy (Taylor) Warning and Daniel (Linda) Dunnavant; nieces, Jenny (Bob) Siepler, Stephanie and Brittaney Check, Gerry Benthein, DeeDee Hatchell and Jenny (Kevin) Summersill; and numerous great nephews and nieces.
Robert grew up in Manitowoc, WI, where he was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School. He was an offensive lineman on the conference champion Manitowoc Shipbuilders football team, and was named to the All Conference team. He graduated with a BA in business from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. Over the years, Bob held managerial positions with various retail firms, and later joined Kelvinator Commercial Products which later facilitated a move to their plant in Conway, AR. After the plant closed, he relocated to Lebanon, TN, where he joined Lockinvar as Director of Operations. Upon retirement, Bob drove a Wilson County School bus for 5 years. Bob was of the Christian faith. He never met a stranger. He was a funny, witty, honorable, friendly man. He took pride in his family and was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Partlow Funeral Chapel, Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Wilson McCoy will officiate the services. Active pallbearers will be Jason Check, Joshua Check, Jimmy Check, Jeremy Check, Stephen Check, Floyd Dunnavant and Daniel Dunnavant. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bob's memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
