Maureen Souza Obituary

Maureen enjoyed many years as a kid at Newfound Lake making memories with her family and friends. She later married Carlos Souza and together they had two children. She had a long fulfilling career serving Lowell Public Schools as a secretary from October of 1992 until her retirement in June of 2018.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Souza of Chelmsford; her three grandchildren, Trevon, Nariana, and Nia'Vanah who she enjoyed dearly. She is survived by her siblings, Warren Ignacio of Dracut, George Ignacio and his wife Kathy of Dracut, Susan Ignacio of Kittery, ME, and Gail Jacques and her husband David of Groton, NH, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Sadly, Maureen was predeceased by her daughter Natalie, her former husband Carlos Souza, her parents, George and Claire Ignacio, and longtime partner Edward Cochran.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm at Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut.
Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelmsford.

Moe, you will always be in my heart. Such a wonderful person and I shall always remember our special times together eating and talking over a lobster dinner.
