Maureen J. Steele of Louisville went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 6, 2023. She was born April 11, 1933 to the late Jennings G. and Evelyn F. (McClure) Hammer. She attended Louisville High School class of 1951 and was active in band and as a majorette. She was a member of the Louisville Eagles Aerie #2374 and was a past chair of every seat in the Louisville Eagles Womens Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler in many leagues throughout her life. She was a regular in Card Club with her mother-in-law, "Tootie" and daughter, Linda. Maureen was an avid horse enthusiast, trail rode in Tri-County Trail Association and helped her first husband run the Bear Creek Riding Academy. "Mo" as she was referred to at work, was a retired Buyer and Bookkeeper at the Belden Village Lighting Center. She was a member of the Trinity Gospel Temple in Canton since the early 1970s and had a deep love for the Lord. However, she will be remembered best for her roles in life as a daughter, Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma. To any of her family there isnt a holiday, party, cookout or gathering that didnt center around her, her decorations, and her love for life. She could be found most days watering and working on her flowers and in the evenings, watching her beloved Cleveland Indians.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Steve) Cutting of Perry Twp.; son, Kevin Greening of New York; daughter, Laurie Huffman of Murrells Inlet, SC; grandsons, Jeremy Greening of New York; Joshua Cutting of Perry Twp, Jacob Cutting of Canton; granddaughter, Leah Huffman of Murrells Inlet, SC; great-grandchildren, Alen, Tess and Riley Cutting, and Avery Huffman; sister, Kathleen Anger of Portland, OR and many dear friends.
The family will receive visitors Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 5:00-7:00pm. Services will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 11:00am at Paquelet Falk Funeral Home at 303 S.
