Funeral services for Mavis Helen Clement, age 86, of Holcomb are at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada with Bro. Jimmy Mangrum officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery near Holcomb. Visitation is Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Mavis was born on August 3, 1936 in McCool, Mississippi. She joined her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Mavis was an active member of Leflore Baptist Church and loved singing God's praises; her favorite hymn being "Amazing Grace."
Mavis had a love and appreciation for life, family, and friends along life's way. She was a strong, yet remarkable woman who warmed the hearts of those who knew her She was the owner of Clement Appraisal Company from 1998 until her retirement in 2011. Mavis had a never-ending love for her husband and sweetheart of 54 years and for her two sons She brought us so much joy and set a strong example for others to follow.
Mavis was preceded in death by her parents, John Oliver Mangrum and Mable Lucille Mangrum; her husband, Lee Chestley Clement; one son, Bobby Clement; and two brothers, Howard Mangrum and Hillard Mangrum.
She is survived by one son, Prentice Clement of Holcomb; two sisters, Sendel Whitsell of Holcomb and Lender Fay Brown of Sardis; one brother, Jimmy Dee Mangrum of McCool; and several nieces and nephews.
Mortimer National Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
