Max W. Goheen, age 83, of Mount Vernon passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at his home with his loving family at his side.
He was born on March 29, 1940, in Coalton, Ohio to the late George and Mildred (Powell) Waulk. He attended the Trinity Warship Center here in Mount Vernon. Max enjoyed boxing, fishing, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals. But most of all, he loved the time he spent with his family and close friends.
Max is survived by his wife, of over 63 years, Connie (Henry) Goheen; his sons, Mark (Ella) Goheen, Barry Goheen; his daughters, Kathi Goheen, Tarrah (Brian) West, Farrah (Jay) Shoemaker; ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by his brother James Waulk; and his sisters, Elizabeth Goheen and Wanda Humphreys.
In keeping with Max' wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will schedule a celebration of life service at a day and date to be announced.
