Born on August 26, 1941, in Houston to Nelson and Ethel Hassell, Maxine graduated from Cy-Fair High School. She married and had her three children, raising them in Tomball with a deep faith and lots of love and laughter. She worked for Klein Funeral Home, was a wonderful mother and homemaker, and loved to play volleyball and softball. She played the piano and sang along to her favorite hymns and country music. In 1983, she met the love of her life, Tommy Baker. They were married on March 2, 1984, surrounded by family and friends. Family was the closest to her heart and, while she worked in the oil and gas industry, she most cherished time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maxine and Tommy traveled extensively, taking spontaneous road trips (that sometimes included a stop at the casino!). She will certainly be greeted at heaven's door by their precious dog Taffee, and will be missed by their sweet dog, Gracee. We will all treasure the memory of her laughter, sweet smile, great hugs, and deep wisdom. She was available to whomever needed her, with a visit, a phone call or text. Maxine's
absence will be felt keenly by all of us who had the joy of knowing her. She will be missed, but long remembered.
