As was her wish, Maxine passed away peacefully at home in Sun City, Arizona in the early evening on June 27th, 2024.
She was born on her family's farm near the small town of Glenvil, Nebraska in 1937. As a teenager tragedy struck their family when her older sister was killed in an automobile accident.
Maxine graduated from High School in Nebraska, married and settled in the Phoenix area after her husband, Ronald 'Ron' Congrove' was discharged from the Navy and graduated from college in the San Diego, California area.
Maxine as a homemaker was the focal point of her family. Her husband of 61 years who preceded her in death in 2017 and two children James and Janet were blessed to have her as a wife and mother. She supported them in all things and loved them unconditionally. It is not surprising that in her giving nature her greatest joy in life was to be a blessing to those around her. She enjoyed sewing/ quilting, square dancing, travel to places she never thought possible as a young girl, playing card games, construction projects, her church family as well as her Sun City community and neighbors, mostly she just loved being a helper.
She is survived by her two children, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Her final resting place will be with her husband at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. A graveside service will be held on July 12th at 10:30.
