Maxine Jacobs

Maxine J. Jacobs, age 76, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

Maxine was a long-time resident of Metropolis, Illinois and Ocean Springs, MS. She was a graduate of Metropolis High School and of MS Gulf Coast Community College. Maxine was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and worked at Ocean Springs Hospital on the Labor and Delivery floor until her retirement. She was a faithful follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and attended Mosaic Church of Ocean Springs. Maxine was a loving and doting wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, Artie and Edna Riles; son, Mitchell S. Jacobs; and sisters, Vernita Davis and Christine Riles.

Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Michael D. Jacobs; son, Michael B. Jacobs (Janice); 5 grandchildren, Julie Jacobs, Jordan Jacobs (Caroline), Tyler Jacobs, Garrett Jacobs (Sophie), and Jacee Willette (Josh); 2 great grandchildren, Mason and Karsyn Jacobs; and siblings, John Riles (Pat), Louise Jennings (Duane), and Frances Helmig.

Visitation and a Memorial Service will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs, MS on Friday, October 31, 2025. Visitation will begin at noon and the Memorial Service will begin at 1pm.
