Megan Renae Gaffney, 33, of Chandler, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Megan was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 13, 1990. She was a 2009 graduate of Harrison High School and was currently attending Ivy Tech Community College. Megan worked as a case manager at Woods & Woods for the last three years. She also worked part-time at Velox as a delivery driver. Megan loved music and enjoyed going to numerous concerts over the years. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach. Megan cherished spending time with her nieces and spoiling them. Above all, Megan was a loving and caring daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Megan is survived by her mother, Michelle Houghland of Chandler, IN; father, Phillip Gaffney (Lesa) of Evansville, IN; brothers, Christopher Bellomy (Toni) of Evansville, IN, and Ayden Walker of Austin, TX; grandparents, Sandra Miles and Diane Gaffney; nieces, Ali and Baylee Bellomy; aunt, Mary Gaffney (Wayne Cardwell); uncles, William Houghland (Chris), Joseph Houghland (Michelle), Michael Miles (Jenny), and Jay Miles; dear friends, Jennifer Baumholser, Ashley Windell, Triston Whitlock, Erica Schrodt, and Veronica, Greg, and Colt Embry; several cousins; and her beloved puppy, Parker.
Megan was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Melvin Gaffney, William Houghland and Jerry Miles.
A celebration of Megan's life will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating.
Friends may visit from 2:00 pm until service time on Tuesday at Browning Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society, 400 Millner Industrial Dr., Evansville, IN 47710.
The family would like to especially thank the Deaconess Gateway Emergency Room staff, and all others involved, for their efforts in caring for Megan. The family would also like to thank Woods & Woods for their support during this difficult time.
