In Loving Memory of Dr. Meijing Wu (1984–2024)
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Meijing Wu on the afternoon of Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the age of 39. Her vibrant spirit, boundless energy, and deep love for life touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
An avid lover of the outdoors, she found joy and renewal in nature's beauty, especially hiking in national parks and exploring skyline trails with her family. She loved playing tennis with her husband and son during the summertime, creating cherished moments of laughter and connection. A passionate food lover, Meijing delighted in seafood and spicy dishes, always sharing her joy for culinary experiences with those around her.
Professionally, Meijing was a dedicated and respected statistician, admired for her expertise, contributions to the statistical community, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Her career was a testament to her intellect and determination.
Born and raised in Fujian, China, Meijing earned her undergraduate degree and Ph.D. in Shanghai. She taught college and graduate school statistics in China before moving to the United States, where she continued her remarkable career. Meijing served as a faculty member at Northwestern University, later joining AbbVie as a senior statistician and rising to senior manager. Most recently, she worked as a statistical project lead at Sanofi in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Meijing leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Wenxin and their son Evan, both of Bedford, Massachusetts, as well as her parents, siblings, and extended family in China.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Meijing's life during visiting hours on Saturday, December 7, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels, located at 773 Moody Street, Waltham, MA. Parking attendants will be on duty.
A Funeral service in honor of her life will follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held in Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford, MA.
