Melanie N. Davis

Melanie Nichole Davis, 56, of Harrisburg, passed away on May 27, 2025, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.
Born on September 7, 1968, in Harrisburg, Melanie was a daughter to Esther L. Davis and Edward J. Nichols.
Above all, Melanie was a child of God. She loved studying his word since she was a little girl. Mel was a devoted mother to her sons. She also had a heart of gold to do anything for all of Gods people. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Gardening was Mel's passion, for she could make anything grow and created such beautiful flower arrangements. She was employed at Coin Wrap, Inc. for the last 20 years.
Mel is survived by her two loving sons, Jordan and Justin Johnson of Harrisburg; her mother, Esther L. Davis and father Edward J. Nichols of Friendship, Texas; sister Adrienne (Linwood) Warner; three brothers Lorne (Sherry) Hicks of York, Malcolm (Michelle) Weems of Harrisburg, and Alan Davis of Reading; three grandchildren, Jorday and Jalee Strawbridge-Johnson, and Jordan Johnson, Jr. all of Harrisburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Deacon George and Deaconess Mary Davis, paternal grandparents Rev. Edward and Genevieve Nichols; aunt Delgracio Nichols; three uncles George Davis III, Johnnie Nichols, and Charles Nichols; and a brother, Byron E. Davis.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg with the funeral service to begin at 12:00 PM.
