Melba Elaine (Sloan) Ogletree
Melba Ogletree, 79, born July 19, 1945, lifelong resident of Madera, passed away February 18, 2025, following a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was a homemaker for many years.
Melba is preceded in death by her husband Danny Ogletree, her parents Melven and Sarah Sloan, her sisters Freda, Betty, Emma, Oneta, Margaret and baby Kay, and her brother Wilbur.
She is survived by her daughters, Darla Hefner (Richard), Lisa Ogletree (Sam), her sons, Brian Ogletree (Janet) and Brent Ogletree, grandchildren, Jamie Kane, Brittany Ogletree, Daniel Hefner, Megan Ogletree, Joshua Hefner, Morgan Wachter, Kristen Hefner, Brandon Ogletree and Kaleb Ogletree, great grandchildren, Easton, Shepherd, Sunday and Brooklyn, her brother Kenny Sloan and her past caregiver Grace Hernandez.
We would like to extend our most heartfelt love and appreciation to our wonderful long time caregivers, Anamaria Velasco Cazares and Nereida Pimentel, for their love and devotion to our mom.
Melba loved the Lord and enjoyed singing in church with the Ladies Quartet, which included her sisters, Betty and Emma, and friend, Bonnie Wallen. She loved jewelry, decorating her home and collecting dolls, plates and figurines.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 9, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 10, at Jay Chapel in Madera, at 11:00 am, with internment to follow at Arbor Vitae Cemetery.
