Melba Pratt, age 83, passed away on November 12, 2025.
She was of the Baptist faith and lived a life filled with simple joys and deep devotion to those she loved. Melba enjoyed watching westerns, listening to classic country and gospel music, and spending time with her family, who meant everything to her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam Bo Lyle and Virgie "Tootsie" Lyle; siblings Gilbert Lyle and Betty Jo Hair; husbands Bobby Williams and Curtis Pratt; daughter Lisa Snyder; nephews Mitchell and Ronnie Hair; and niece Tammy Lyle.
She is survived by her daughter Sheila (Moe) Brock; sibling Bobby (Faye) Lyle; grandchildren Jason (Tiffany) Brock, Nikki (Eric) Johnson, Danielle (Cody) Powers, and Jeremy (Carley) Snyder; and great-grandchildren Rylan and Amayah Brock, Eylan and Carver Johnson, and Eliana and Everly Powers. She also leaves behind nieces Darlene (Tony) Carroll and Kim Lyle, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Hill Veteran's Cemetery, with Pastor Homer Roberts officiating and Jason Brock speaking. May her kind and loving spirit continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
