Melda Anderson Lee

Melda Anderson Lee, 91, of Westminster, SC, passed away on August 29, 2025, at Lila Doyle Post Acute, Seneca, SC. A native of Oconee County, Melda was the daughter of the late Ferd Anderson and Daisy Phillips Smith. She was raised in the home of her grandparents, Lon and Fannie Phillips.

Melda was a devoted Christian woman and a faithful member of Seneca Church of God, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for the Senior Adult Sunday School class.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet McGuffin (Monty) of Westminster; and her son, Greg Lee (Sheri Marcus) of Seneca. She is also survived by a half-brother, Donald Smith, and half-sister, Rachel Lusk (Ferber); three grandchildren, Philip Hopkins (Cyndi), Carrie Massey (Michael), and Morgan Lee; five great-grandchildren, Ayla Percy, Gavin and Thomas Hopkins, and Micah and Lillian Massey; and many other extended family members.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, Melda was preceded in death by Marcus Lee; her sons, Lloyd Davis Lee, Michael Malone Lee, and her grandson, Ethan Marcus Lee; her brothers, Harold Smith, Wilton Smith, and Paul William Smith; and her sisters, Janie Brown and Pauline Schmitt.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at First Baptist Memorial Park in Westminster. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Sandifer Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Melda's memory may be made to Seneca Church of God, P.O. Box 1617, Seneca, SC 29679

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Lila Doyle Post Acute in Seneca, SC, and Wren Hospice in Greer, SC, for their dedicated care and compassion for their precious mother.
