Melissa Margaret Wilson Ivy, age 61, of Tuscaloosa, went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 15, 2025. She died peacefully at home with her husband of over 40 years, Jonathan, along with her two children, Caleb and Abby, her brother in-law Anthony and dear friends by her side. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Margaret Wilson; father-in-law, Donivan Ivy, and mother-in-law, Virginia Ivy.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jonathan Ivy of Tuscaloosa; son, Caleb Ivy (Kathleen) of Trussville; daughter, Abigail Kathryn Ivy of Tuscaloosa; brother, Mark Wilson (Evelyn) of Cottondale; sister, Kathy Wilson Minges (Kenric) of Moundville; two grandchildren, Ben and Annie Ivy of Trussville; and brother-in-law, Anthony Ivy of Tuscaloosa.
Pallbearers include Abby Ivy, Caleb Ivy, Scotty Ratcliff, Jack Black, Ron Howard, and Chuck Gills.
Honorary Pallbearers include Anthony Ivy, Ben and Annie Ivy, Ray Walker, Michelle Walker, Beth and Steve McKenna, Megan and Lee Kennedy, Adam Forehand, Park and Nicole Wilson, Leah and Garrett Keith, Katie and Will South, Lolly and Joe McAbee, Caroline Wilson, Pam Duren and Family, The Gills Family, Landon Fancher, Alex Way, Maddie Cain, Hudson and Anna Cain, Gabi Hudson, Woodland Forrest Church and Enhabit Home Health & Hospice.
Known as "Nana" to the little people who meant the world to her, you could often find her FaceTiming, playing Bluey Candyland, or building gingerbread houses (no matter the time of year) with Ben and Annie. Her favorite pastimes were watching Hallmark Christmas movies, chasing characters around the Magic Kingdom at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and cheering at Ben's basketball games. In her college years, she played the clarinet as a member of the Million Dollar Band. She was creative, funny, thoughtful, and as selfless as a person could be, always putting the needs of others before her own. While she will be dearly missed, those who knew her best will remember her fondly and continue to smile when sharing stories of her wonderful life.
