With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Melissa Sujey Olivares, who left this world far too soon on January 25, 2025, at the age of 36.
Melissa was more than a daughter, sister, mother, partner, and friend-she was the heart of her family. As the firstborn of a family of six, she naturally took on the role of protector and guide, caring for her siblings as if they were her own from a young age. Her love for her parents was immeasurable, and she was always there to support and help them in any way she could. She wasn't just a part of the family-she was a big piece of it, a pillar of strength, love, and wisdom.
Melissa was known for her intelligence, resourcefulness, and selflessness, always finding a way to uplift those around her. But what made her truly unforgettable was her infectious sense of humor. She had a gift for making people laugh, turning even the toughest situations into moments of joy with her quick wit and playful spirit. She could light up any room with her jokes and always knew the perfect thing to say to make someone smile.
She was also a woman of adventure and passion. Melissa loved to travel, explore, and embrace life to the fullest. She never took a single day for granted and lived each moment as if it were her last. Her vibrant spirit, laughter, and love for life will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Above all, Melissa was a devoted mother to her two beautiful children, Alejandro Cruz Olivares and Roselyn Cruz Olivares, who were the greatest loves of her life. She worked tirelessly to give them a future full of love, strength, and opportunity, and her legacy will live on through them.
Melissa leaves behind her children, loving partner, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were blessed to have known and loved her. Though she is no longer with us, her wisdom, strength, humor, and love will remain in the hearts of her family forever.

• Visitation: J. B. Ratterman & Sons Funerals & Family Cremation Care, 2114 W. Market St. Louisville. Kentucky, February 3, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
• Mass of The Resurrection: Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 9:30 AM, Saint Louis Bertrand Church, 1104 South Sixth Street, Louisville, KY 40203.
• Interment: Following Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Louisville, Kentucky.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate and honor the extraordinary life of Melissa Sujey Olivares.
Her journey may have ended, but her love, her laughter, and the light she brought into our lives will never fade.
Rest in peace, Melissa. You were deeply loved, and you will be forever missed.

Con gran tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Melissa Sujey Olivares, quien partió de este mundo demasiado pronto el 25 de enero de 2025, a la edad de 36 años.
Melissa fue mucho más que una hija, hermana, madre, compañera y amiga: ella era el corazón de su familia. Como la primogénita de una familia de seis, asumió naturalmente el papel de protectora y guía, cuidando de sus hermanos como si fueran sus propios hijos desde una edad temprana. Su amor por sus padres era inmenso, y siempre estuvo allí para apoyarlos y ayudarlos en todo lo que pudo. No solo era parte de la familia, sino que era una pieza fundamental, un pilar de fortaleza, amor y sabiduría.
Melissa era conocida por su inteligencia, ingenio y generosidad, siempre encontraba la manera de ayudar y alegrar a quienes la rodeaban. Pero lo que la hacía verdaderamente inolvidable era su sentido del humor contagioso. Tenía el don de hacer reír a los demás, convirtiendo incluso los momentos difíciles en instantes de alegría con su ingenio y espíritu juguetón. Podía iluminar cualquier habitación con sus bromas y siempre sabía qué decir para sacarle una sonrisa a alguien.
También era una mujer de aventura y pasión. Amaba viajar, explorar y disfrutar la vida al máximo. Nunca daba un día por sentado y vivía cada momento como si fuera el último. Su espíritu vibrante, su risa y su amor por la vida serán recordados por siempre por quienes la conocieron.
Sobre todo, Melissa fue una madre dedicada a sus dos hermosos hijos, Alejandro Cruz Olivares y Roselyn Cruz Olivares, quienes fueron los grandes amores de su vida. Trabajó incansablemente para darles un futuro lleno de amor, fortaleza y oportunidades, y su legado vivirá a través de ellos.
Melissa deja atrás a sus hijos, su pareja, sus padres, hermanos, sobrinos, y muchos amigos que tuvieron la dicha de conocerla y amarla. Aunque ya no esté físicamente con nosotros, su sabiduría, fortaleza, humor y amor permanecerán en los corazones de su familia para siempre.
