Melissa Marie Powers, aged 58, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, in Grand Rapids. She was born March 16, 1964, in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of James and Hazel (Weber) Lynch.

Melissa was a sister, mother, grandmother and a friend to many.

She is survived by four children, Trenton J. Little, Hailey Lynch, Samantha (Alex) Powers Stobert, and Ashley Powers; siblings, Dr. James E. (Priscilla) Lynch, Kinny L. (Deborah) Lynch, Deborah (Raymond) Lynch Riley, Terri Lynch Halwig; ex-husband, Chris Powers; seven grandchildren, Teva, Luxa, Brindin, Airowyin, Trex, Coquelicot, and Charles.

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law, Harry Halwig.

She cherished and spoiled all seven grandchildren. Melissa loved her many siblings. She was surrounded by many friends as she loved hosting euchre and trivia parties. If you ask anyone, they will tell you how amazing of a cook Melissa was, she would try a new recipe and always warn us it could be horrible, yet it was always the most amazing dish. Melissa was kind, loving, funny, and sassy. She was the life of the party and was always willing to help others in need. Melissa was loved by many and in her final moments was surrounded by family.
