Melonee (nee Alsup) Sharpnack, 96, of Chagrin Falls, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2024, at Eliza Jennings of Chagrin Falls.
Born May 18, 1928, in Pulaski, Tenn., Melonee had lived in Mentor for 52 years before moving to Chagrin Falls 8 months ago.
Melonee loved her family and was always there in the times she was needed. Bingo was a passion of Melonee's. She loved to travel, visit family and walking into the casino.
She was the loving mother of Danny (Karen) Sharpnack, Linda (John) Melaragno and Pat Dixon; cherished grandmother of Michael (Sandy), Angela (David), John (Adel), Andy, Dan (Rebecca) and Cory; great-grandmother of Katie, Sam, Reese, Isabela and Greyson; sister-in-law of Jerry Stevens; and aunt of many nieces and nephews, whom she loved as well.
Melonee is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald E. Sharpnack; parents, Aubrey and Oma (nee Treadway) Alsup; and siblings, J.W. (Martha) Alsup, Bill (Barbara) Alsup, Jean (Billy Jean) Towsend, Betty (Dale) Anderson and Gayle Stevens.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp. at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Melonee's name may be made to Cleveland Clinic Foundation, PO Box 931517, Cleveland, OH 44193-1655.
