She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin Burt and Ruby (Hartzell) Burt and by one brother, Dwayne Burt.
She was survived by her brother and his wife Gary and Donna Burt and their two sons, Philip Burt and wife Vicki (Ochsner) Burt and Michael Burt and his wife Raquel (Lexba) Burt.
Melva was born on August 15th, 1934, in Clay Center, Nebraska, and lived a fulfilling life. She loved sweets, adored her dog Patches, enjoyed watching television, and loved attending church services on Wednesdays and Sundays; however, as her dementia progressed, she was unable to continue attending. In her younger days, she worked as a hairstylist and had a passion for boating and water skiing. Later in life, she discovered a love for painting and embroidery, creating handmade gifts for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
